The film follows Raju (Bobby Deol), a waiter who is obsessed with Geeta (Karisma Kapoor), a famous TV reporter. He lies to her that he witnessed a murder in order to spend time with her. However, he soon finds himself in trouble with both the police and the mafia, who are after him for different reasons. Meanwhile, Geeta is also looking for her brother Vikram (Raj Zutshi), who has been kidnapped by the mafia for trying to expose their illegal activities. Raju decides to help Geeta even at the cost of his life, but Geeta learns the truth and leaves him. Will they be able to reunite and solve the mystery?
Story and Characters
The film tries to blend thriller and comedy elements in a fast-paced plot that involves murder, kidnapping, conspiracy, romance, and action. However, it fails to deliver a coherent or engaging story that makes sense or keeps the viewers interested. The film is full of clichés, loopholes, coincidences, and absurdities that defy logic and common sense. The film also lacks originality and borrows heavily from its source material as well as other Hollywood films like Speed (1994) and Die Hard (1988).
The characters are also poorly written and developed. They are either one-dimensional or inconsistent in their behavior and motivations. Raju is supposed to be a naive and innocent hero who falls in love with Geeta at first sight. However, he is also shown to be a liar, a stalker, a thief, and a coward who puts himself and others in danger for no good reason. Geeta is supposed to be a smart and brave reporter who is dedicated to her profession. However, she is also shown to be gullible, impulsive, reckless, and selfish who trusts Raju blindly without verifying his claims or background. The supporting characters are also stereotypical and annoying. They include Kutti (Johnny Lever), Raju's best friend who provides comic relief; Rohit (Rohit Roy), Geeta's fiancé who is arrogant and jealous; Inspector Shinde (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), a corrupt cop who chases Raju; Ketu (Shakti Kapoor), a mysterious killer who works for the mafia; Gul Mah b70169992d
